Oversee operation of production equipment in assigned department (s) to meet productivity and quality goals.
Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems.
Develop innovative solutions.
Train and supervise hourly employees in proper work procedures, and document training performed.
Maintain accurate payroll and attendance records on hourly employees, and submit weekly report of hours worked by all direct reports to payroll.
Ensure compliance with all plant rules and regulations, safety initiatives, environmental and OSHA resolutions
Conduct preliminary counseling with hourly employees and disciplinary action when necessary; document and communicate action taken to the plant manager and the HR Manager.
Must have excellent organizational skills and be a self-starter in order to assess priorities of the work area, to organize workload, and to meet deadlines
Must have good interpersonal skills for interacting with direct reports and with employees in other departments.
Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision:

Minimum High School diploma, with some college, technical school or college degree preferred.

Able to lift manually up to 50 lbs – regularly – or move 100 lbs occasionally.
2-3 years’ experience in production/manufacturing industry, and supervisory experience required.
Strong organizational and communication skills both oral and written.
